Explore the difference between toe, heel and center contact with the same putter.
Choose a short, fairly level practice putt. Use one ball, the same putter and a similar stroke. Try contact toward the toe, away from the shaft; then the heel, near the shaft; then the center. Notice the feel and watch how the ball rolls.
Toe or heel contact can reduce ball speed and leave a putt short. The amount depends on your putter and impact location. The three animated roll examples are illustrative; your results may differ.
